Students are provided with ongoing support from the UM Global team upon their acceptance to the University. Before their arrival, students will receive a student guide, an academic calendar, and, once available, a catalogue of courses offered during the semester. To ensure students find courses that best suit their interests and needs, the University also offers academic counseling pre-arrival.
The Office of International Relations also organizes a two-day orientation program at the beginning of each semester, designed to help new international students settle in by introducing them to the University and to Montevideo. Early in the semester, exchange students are also invited on a day outing to a town near Montevideo where they can get to know their peers.
