A Day of Musical Talent

UM Students competed in a singing contest during UM Day

Students from different schools presented their singing talents during UM Day 2018 in the patio of the main building. An audience of students, professors and staff applauded, sung along and raised their cell phones to film the participants. The day began with mass in the university chaplaincy and continued in the garden with pizzas and the competition. There were different musical genres, guitars, and a Peruvian box-drum.

The first individual prize was given to Civil Engineering student María Eugenia Moro, whom, after singing “Feeling Good”, won a Grün Smart Move electrical motorcycle. In second place, a drone was handed to International Business student Martín Asencio who surprised everyone with a rap. Third place was awarded to Tomás de Leon, from the same degree, who received a UM Kit after performing a song by Juanes.

In the group category, two Communications students, Carina Machado and Silvina Piaggio were prized with three tickets to Buenos Aires. The second prize was a UM kit awarded to Law student Josefina Gomez and Communications student Guzmán Lorenzo.
