Beijing Foreign Studies University at the UM

UM received Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) visitors

On October 13, the UM hosted five representatives from BFSU: Han Zhen, Professor and chairman of the Board of BFSU; Liu Jian, Director of the School of Spanish and Portuguese; Director Ke Jing and June Zhu, from the International Exchange & Cooperation Office and, Zhang Siying, Deputy director of BFSU Press Department.

Rector Juan Manuel Gutiérrez received them with Luisa Peirano and Virginia Whitelaw from the International Office. The delegation also visited the IEEM Business School and met Dean Pablo Regent, and Ignacio Munyo, Director of the Center for Economics, Society and Business, along with Margaret Ferber, Director of Admissions.

During the visit to the UM, they discussed exploring further collaboration between both universities including student and faculty exchanges at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The UM and BFSU have common partners such as NUI Maynooth (Ireland), University of Applied Sciences Northwestern (Switzerland) and La Trobe University (Australia).

BFSU is a renowned university for diplomats and currently teaches over eighty-four different languages. Four hundred active Chinese diplomats graduated from BFSU. Professor Han Zhen invited the authorities of UM to visit their campus in Beijing.
