Office of International Affairs

The UM Office of International Affairs plays a pivotal role in the University’s international efforts.

UM’s students are studying abroad in increasing numbers, with access to top institutions in key destinations world-wide. In addition, many of its professors teach and research as visiting scholars abroad. Meanwhile, the University's curriculum and program are increasingly international in focus.

By helping to identify the UM’s international priorities and to facilitate educational opportunities abroad, the Office of International Affairs complements UM’s academic mission. It connects the UM community to international opportunities, promotes the University's programs and courses abroad, and supports international students on campus.

International Collaboration

The UM Office of International Affairs designs and negotiates institutional links with universities, international organizations, cooperation agencies and educational departments of accredited diplomatic representatives in Uruguay.

International Educational Experiences

In addition, we coordinate the University’s study abroad and exchange programs for outgoing and incoming students.

Integration of International Students and Scholars

We are also responsible for facilitating the integration of international students and scholars into the UM community and Montevideo, receiving applications from overseas universities from professors who wish to teach and carry out research projects at the Universidad de Montevideo.
